Construcción de periferias y producción de lo local en las cumbres de El Alto-Ancasti

Abstract

En este trabajo, analizamos la estructuración del paisaje arqueológico de la segunda mitad del primer milenio en las tierras altas de la serranía de El Alto-Ancasti. La caracterización de un paisaje aldeano agro-pastoril en términos de los componentes que lo conforman, la manera en que se relacionan y, sobre todo, el modo en que constituyeron tecnologías de interacción mediante los cuales se establecían relaciones de vecindad, nos permite revisar el lugar marginal ocupado por el mismo en las narrativas arqueológicas. A su vez, este reposicionamiento del margen, nos permite, al final del texto, interrogarnos sobre la validez de la utilización del modelo centro-periferia para la arqueología de esta zona.

In this paper, we analyze how the archaeological landscape of the second half of the first millennium in the highlands of the El Alto-Ancasti range was structured. The characterization of an agro-pastoral village landscape, in terms of the components that constituted it, how they were related, and, specially, the way in which they all constituted technologies of interaction by which neighborhood relations were formed, allow us to review the marginal place it occupied in the archaeological narratives. In turn, this repositioning of the margin, allows us, at the end of the text, to ask about the validity of the use of center-periphery model in the archeology of this area.
