La División de Investigaciones de la policía de Rosario, 1906-1912: Los agentes de investigaciones, la lectura como forma de control y vigilancia

Abstract

A comienzos del siglo XX el problema del orden adquirió un sentido específico marcado el crecimiento vertigionoso que tuvo la ciudad de Rosario. El control y vigilancia de determinados sujetos estuvo a cargo de la policía de la ciudad, en particular por la División de Investigaciones. El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo analizar las distintas formas de control por parte de los agentes de Investigaciones haciendo hincapié en la lectura de distintos documentos. Se plantea que las lecturas de dichos documentos no fueron lineales sino que estuvieron atravesadas por sentidos preconcebidos. A partir del cruce de dos tradiciones historiográficas -por un lado, la que tiene como objeto a la institución policial y el mundo del delito y, por otro, la que se ha preocupado por la cuestión social y el surgimiento de las distintas corrientes políticas- se reflexiona sobre los mecanismos de control instaurados por la mencionada división.

At the beginning of the 20th century, the problem of order acquired a specific meaning marked by the vertiginous growth that the city of Rosario had. The control and surveillance of certain subjects was carried out by the city police, in particular by the Investigation Division.The objective of this paper is to analyze the different forms of control by Investigative agents, emphasizing the reading of different documents. It is argued that the readings of these documents were not linear but were crossed by preconceived meanings. From the crossroads of two historiographical traditions -on the one hand, the one that has as its object the police institution and the world of crime and, on the other, the one that has been concerned with the social question and the emergence of different political currents- It reflects on the control mechanisms established by the aforementioned division.
