La política como sistema: reflexiones desde la teoría sistémica de Niklas Luhmann

Abstract

Suele percibirse a la sociedad y a la política como dos objetos de estudio antagónico, incluso enfrentados. La teoría luhmanniana de sistemas rompe esta línea argumental propia de la tradición sociológica del siglo XIX redefiniendo ambos concepto Su abordaje interdisciplinario, en este sentido, da cuenta de la sociedad como un sistema complejo organizado de manera acéntrica a partir de una multiplicidad de sistemas autónomos e intercomunicados ubicado en un mismo nivel jerárquico y sin un órgano central encargado de conducirla. Toda una ruptura con las teorías de Marx, Weber y Durkheirn, para quienes el sistema político ocupaba el centro social.

Society and politics have generally been considered antagonistic and even opposed objects of study. The Luhmann's theory of systems rules out this argumentative line typical of the nineteenth century sociological tradition by redefining both concepts. Its interdisciplinary approach, in this sense, characterizes "society" as a complex system organized in an a-centric fashion, i.e. starting from an array of autonomous but intercommunicated systems which have the same hierarchical level and do not depend on a central organ in charge of directing them. This has meant a huge break with Marx, Weber and Durkheim's theories, in which the political system is the social centre.
