Del G7 a los BRICS+: la transición del sistema mundial y el escenario geopolítico

Abstract

La constitución de los BRICS es uno de los hechos centrales para analizar la transformación en el mapa del poder mundial y, en particular, las dimensiones política, geopolítica y geoeconómica de la transición histórico-espacial del sistema mundial. La propuesta de ampliación en la cumbre de Sudáfrica en septiembre de 2023 expresa el avance de los poderes emergentes y la profundización de una situación de multipolaridad relativa, en un escenario de quiebre de la hegemonía estadounidense y declive relativo del G7. El trabajo se centra en indagar sobre el significado de los BRICS en relación a la transición histórico-espacial del sistema mundial y al escenario geopolíticos actual – en plena etapa de “Caos Sistémico” –, para a partir de allí examinar las implicancias de la constitución del BRICS+, concretada en enero de 2024. En este marco, se analiza la disputa política en Argentina en torno a su posible incorporación, lo cual está en relación a conformar o no un polo de poder emergente en América del Sur.

The constitution of the BRICS is one of the central events for analyzing the transformation in the map of world power and, in particular, the political, geopolitical and geo-economic dimensions of the historical-spatial transition of the world system. The proposal for enlargement at the South Africa summit in September 2023 expresses the advance of the emerging powers and the deepening of a situation of relative multipolarity, in a scenario of the breakdown of US hegemony and the relative decline of the G7. The paper focuses on the meaning of the BRICS in relation to the historical-spatial transition of the world system and the current geopolitical scenario – in the midst of a stage of “Systemic Chaos” – in order to examine the implications of the constitution of the BRICS+, which took place in January 2024. In this context, we analyze the political dispute in Argentina over its possible incorporation, which is related to whether or not it will form an emerging pole of power in South America.
