Más allá del funcionalismo y el estructuralismo: Por una nueva teoría del proceso de diferenciación regional

Abstract

El pensamiento postmoderno argumenta con insistencia que la noción de región no puede resistir las configuraciones de una economía mundial gobernada por la internacionalización del capital, decretando entonces la caducidad ontológica y la obsolescencia epistemológica de las nociones de desigualdad y / o fragmentación socio-territorial. Con todo, es menester comprender que las desigualdades regionales constituyen categorías ontológicas y epistemológicas de diferenciación, existencia y metamorfosis de las regiones, constituyendo, en rigor de verdad, los fundamentos por excelencia de su realidad objetiva y de su legitimidad intelectual. Por eso, procuraremos explicar el modo en que tales desigualdades y fragmentaciones se pergeñan, elaborando una construcción teórica del proceso de diferenciación regional que, inspirada en el pensamiento de Milton Santos y María Laura Silveira y articulada por los conceptos de espacio-tiempo, modernización, división del trabajo, verticalidades y horizontalidades, pretenderá revelar la génesis, reproducción y metamorfosis de los recortes o funcionalizaciones regionales de la sociedad, la economía y el territorio.

The postmodern thought argues insistently that the notion of region cannot resist the configurations of a world economy governed by the internationalization of the capital, decreeing the ontological expiration and the epistemological obsolescence of the notions of inequality and fragmentation. With everything, it is necessary to understand that the regional inequalities constitute ontological and epistemological categories of differentiation, existence and metamorphosis of the regions, constituting the foundations of their objective reality and their intellectual legitimacy. For this reason, we will try to explain how such inequalities and fragmentations are arranged, elaborating a theoretical construction of the process of regional differentiation that, inspired by the thought of Milton Santos and María Laura Silveira and articulated by the space-time, modernization, division of labour, uprightness and horizontality concepts, will seek to reveal the genesis, reproduction and metamorphosis of the society regional cuttings, the economy and the territory.
