dc.description.abstract
Domestic territories are crucial aren as of operation—even more so during a health pandemic. Capitalism has taken advant age of the current crisis in order to reconfigure forms of labour, modes of consumption, the distribution and use of in come, and gender relations. Domestic territories have been affected too. We understand domestic territories as having a two-fold meaning. On the one hand, domestic territories are expanded spaces of social reproduction (popular economies). All those communitarian and popular spaces we are reproduction “overflows ” household confinement structure the landscape in extensive and popular feminised ways of generating income and providing care. The traditional responsibilities of women as managers of the household have be en expanded and now involve collective s of women in building new territories of care. These feminised practices of social reproduction appear to resolve and replace—as well as critique—the plunde ring of public infrastructure. Domestic territories have be come spaces of collective, territorial and neighbourhood reproduction in the face of the systematic looting that has deprived many urban are as of their basic sustenance
