The derivation and implementation of thenatural switching surfaces (NSS) considering parametricuncertainties for a flyback converter operating at boundaryconduction mode (BCM) is the main focus of this paper. TheNSS presents many benefits for the control of non-linearsystems; for example fast transient response under loadchangingconditions. However, the performance considerableworsens when real parameters of the converter are slightlydifferent from the designed ones. Therefore, a novel controlstrategy that considers the effect of parameter uncertainties ispresented. This control law can estimate and adapt the controltrajectories in one switching action to obtain excellentperformances even under extreme parameter uncertainties.The analytical derivation of the proposed adaptive switchingsurfaces are presented.
