Antropofagia en tiempo presente: De la necesidad de una reinvención

Abstract

El presente texto propone una mirada retrospectiva sobre el movimiento antropófago brasileño liderado por Oswald de Andrade a fines de los años veinte del siglo pasado, considerándolo como el más importante durante el siglo XX. Se analizan sus premisas iniciales, que eran a un mismo tiempo, culturales, sociales y políticas; y su posterior reaparición durante los años sesenta, también del siglo pasado. En este segundo momento y en debate con el pensamiento de izquierda y su ideología del progreso, la antropofagia imaginó un Brasil precario y cosmopolita, tercermundista y sofisticado, y se propuso como un dispositivo crítico capaz de administrar los efectos de una modernización desigual. El presente, con la reciente experiencia bolsonarista y los nuevos activismos identitarios supone una crisis y un desafío para la antropofagia. El artículo sostiene que la antropofagia debe convertirse para ser el espacio en el que en el que las violencias fundacionales, la esclavitud, el exterminio indígena y la violencia sexual sobre las esclavas negras y las indígenas, sean trabajadas una y otra vez sin la pretensión de cualquier tipo de clausura.

The present text proposes a retrospective look at the Brazilian anthropophagist movement led by Oswald de Andrade in the late 1920s, considering it as the most important movement of the 20th century. It analyzes its initial premises, which were at the same time cultural, social and political, and its subsequent reappearance during the sixties, also in the last century. In this second moment and in debate with leftist thought and its ideology of progress, anthropophagy imagined a precarious and cosmopolitan Brazil, third world and sophisticated, and proposed itself as a critical device capable of managing the effects of unequal modernization. The present, with the recent bolsonarista experience and the new identity activisms, represents a crisis and a challenge for anthropophagy. The article argues that anthropophagy must become the space in which the foundational violences, slavery, indigenous extermination and sexual violence on black slaves and indigenous women, are worked over and over again without the pretension of any kind of closure.
