Abstract

El hecho literario más importante en América, que se va gestando en el arco temporal que va desde el siglo xvi hasta mediados del siglo xviii, es la renovación neoclásica, en la que se reconoce el esfuerzo de los hijos de Loyola por, sobre todo, explicar, traducir e imitar a los poetas latinos y por restaurar el gusto clásico en cuanto a armonía, proporción y claridad. Los jesuitas llevan adelanteun programa literario marcado por la necesidad de continuar y recrear el canon ya existente.En el marco de la Compañía de Jesús, y a propósito de la expulsión ordenada por Carlos III en 1767, cobran importancia algunos géneros literarios vitales que dan cuenta de la traumática experiencia del exilio y cumplen una exigencia tradicional, la denominada historia domus. Entre los testimonios más destacados cabe mencionar el Annus Patiens de José Peramás, manuscrito inédito y desconocido para el mundo académico. Si bien el estatus genérico de esta obra oscila entre el género relato de viajes y el subgénero diario, la mayor innovación radica en lapresencia de otros géneros que permiten resignificar el proceso de construcción dela memoria histórica de la orden.
