Sentido social del riesgo sobre el uso de agrotóxicos en productores y trabajadores rurales en el Partido de Junín (Buenos Aires), entre 2015-2019

Abstract

El objetivo de este artículo es analizar los sentidos sociales del riesgo de trabajadores y productores rurales sobre el uso de agrotóxicos en Junín (Buenos Aires). El estudio se realizó bajo la perspectiva cualitativa con abordaje etnográfico.Se analizan las condiciones y procesos de trabajo de productores y trabajadores rurales, sus percepciones sobre el riesgo de trabajar con agrotóxicos y el rol del discurso de las Buenas Prácticas Agrícolas en dicha percepción. Se concluye que el sentido social del riesgo se construye de distinta forma según el lugar ocupado en la estructura social, las condiciones de trabajo y género. No se pueden estudiar los riesgos sin pensar en las relaciones de desigualdad en los distintos procesos de producción de la vida social.

The objective of this article is to analyze the social meanings of risk of rural workers and producers regarding the use of pesticides in Junín (Buenos Aires). The study was conducted under a qualitative perspective with an ethnographic approach. We analyzed the working conditions and processes of rural producers and workers, their perceptions of the risk of working with pesticides, the implications of the social constructions of gender and the role of the Good Agricultural Practices discourse in this perception. It is concluded that the social sense of risk is constructed differently according to the place occupied in the social structure, working conditions and gender. It is not possible to study risks without thinking about the relations of inequality in the different production processes of social life.
