Indicios para pensar el Estado. Teología política y sociología

Abstract

El artículo propone una discusión con las teorías sociales del Estado, que conciben el ámbito de lo estatal como un conjunto de relaciones sociales, a partir de la lectura de la obra historiográfica de Ernst Kantorowicz que realiza Pierre Bourdieu. Siguiendo la pista de la lectura bourdieuana de Kantorowicz indagamos las razones de la centralidad de lo teológicopolítico y del concepto de autoridad en todo estudio sobre el Estado. El artículo revela cómo ciertas nociones sociológicas desplegadas para dar con lo simbólico se aproximan a la teología cuando intentan asir el campo de lo político, y cómo dicha proximidad reconfigura la noción de autoridad como concepto nodal para inteligir la esfera estatal. En suma, el artículo procura comprender por qué la dimensión teológico-política es imprescindible para pensar teóricamente la formación, constitución y racionalidad del Estado.

The article proposes a discussion with the social theories of the State, that conceive the sphere of the State as a set of social relations, based on the reading of the historiographical work of Ernst Kantorowicz carried out by Pierre Bourdieu. Following the trail of Bourdieu's reading of Kantorowicz, we investigate the reasons for the centrality of the theological-political and the concept of authority in any study of the State. The article reveals how certain sociological notions deployed to find the symbolic approach theology when they try to grasp the field of the political, and how this proximity reconfigures the notion of authority as a nodal concept to understand the state sphere. In short, the article seeks to understand why the theological-political dimension is essential to theoretically think about the formation, constitution and rationality of the State.
