Prácticas científicas de docentes de la Carrera de Medicina FCM–UNC

Abstract

Las actividades de investigación juegan un rol destacado tanto en la formación de los futuros médicos como en la construcción de la ciencia médica. Objetivos: Describir las prácticas científicas de docentes carrera de Medicina (FCM-UNC).Estudio descriptivo, transversal, correlacional. Universo: Docentes carrera de Medicina FCM-UNC N: 1028. Muestra no probabilística, accidental, porcuotas. n: 310. Instrumento: Cuestionario autoadministrado (Grediaga Kuri,1999). Se recuperaron 70 cuestionarios: 8 Profesores Titulares (PT); 4 Profesores Asociados (PAs); 23 Profesores Adjuntos (PA); 38 Profesores Asistentes (PAst). De 1028 profesores de la carrera, 45 son PT, 28 PAs, 142 PA y 813 PAst. 218 (21%) están categorizados en el PROINCE (SPU) y 142 (14%) tenían proyectos aprobados y acreditados por organismos científicos en el ciclo 2014-2015. De los 70 participantes, 42 son Médicos y 28 de Otras Profesiones. 55 poseen doctorados (78%). 54 están involucrados en al menos un proyecto de investigación y 45 de estos proyectos están acreditados por alguno de los siguientes organismos: SECyT UNC, CONICET, ANPCyT, ANMAT, ANLIS. En cuanto al área de los proyectos, 32 son del área Básica; 30 de la Clínica; 19 Aplicada y 18 Epidemiológica. Las publicaciones las realizan en acceso abierto, por suscripción, en español e inglés. Este último idioma prevalece en los artículos de revistas con referato en ambas modalidades. Es nula la producción de libros en inglés, reseñas o traducciones a esa lengua. La mayoría participan en proyectos colectivos y sólo 7 realizan investigación individualmente. En lo que refiere a participación en redes, trabajan en equipos con investigadores de su misma cátedra 41/70; participaron en proyectos realizados con otros organismos de la UNC 17/70 y con investigadores de instituciones fuera UNC 16/70. 30 dirigieron tesis de posgrado y 3 posdoctorados.Son escasos los docentes categorizados en el programa de incentivos docentes investigadores (PROINCE). La mayoría participan en proyectos de investigación acreditados; publican artículos en inglés en revistas con referato y también en acceso abierto. No se halló producción ni traducción de libros en inglés ni de reseñas en esa lengua. Trabajan en equipos con investigadores de su cátedra y de otras instituciones. Forman recursos humanos en el área de posgrado.

Research activities play an important role in the training of future physicians as well as in the construction of the medical science. Objectives: To describe the scientific activities of professors of Medicine career (FCM- UNC).Descriptive, correlational and cross study. Universe: Professors of Medicine FCM-UNC N:1028. Non-probabilistic, accidental, quota sampling. N: 310. Instrument: Self-administered survey (Grediaga Kuri,1999). 70 surveys were recovered: 8 tenured professors (PT); 4 associate professors (PAs); 23 adjunct professors (PA); 38 assistant professors (PAst).Of 1028 professors, 4 are PT, 28 PAs, 142 PA and 813 PAst. 218 (21%) are categorized in the PROINCE (SPU) and 142 (14%) had approved projects and got accredited by scientific organizations during 2014-2015. Out of 70 participants, 42 are physicians and 28 have other kinds of profession. 55 are doctorate (78%). 54 form part of at least a research project which 45 of them got accredited by one of the following organizations: SECyT UNC, CONICET, ANPCyT, ANMAT, and ANLIS. As regards the area of the projects, 32 are from Basics, 30 from Clinic; 19 from Applied and 18 from Epidemiology. Publications have open access and subscription, both in Spanish and English. The latter language prevails in refereed journals’ articles in both modalities. The production of books in English, reviews or translations into English is null. The majority takes part in joint projects and only 7 carry research individually. As regards networking participation, 41/70 work in teams with researchers from the same chair, 17/70 took part in projects carried out with organizations inside the UNC and 16/0 in projects carried out with researchers others than the UNC. 30 directed postgraduate thesis and 3 post-doctorates.There are few professors categorized in the Incentive program (PROINCE). The majority takes part in accredited research projects; the publish articles in English in refereed journals and with open access as well. It was not possible to find production neither translation of books in English neither reviews in such language. They work in teams with researchers from their own chair and from other institutions. They form human resources in postgraduate area.
