Investigar con artistas circenses: Reflexiones sobre experiencias de investigación corporizada, trabajo colaborativo y escritura colectiva

Abstract

Proponemos compartir reflexiones provenientes de diversas estrategias de investigación que hemos desarrollado a lo largo de nuestras experiencias de trabajo antropológico junto a artistas circenses. Desde la implicación corporal y el trabajo colaborativo/colectivo a propuestas que recorren los roles cambiantes que podemos ocupar en tanto investigadores, reflexionamos acerca de los aportes –y también los dilemas y dificultades- de estas estrategias de investigación para el estudio de prácticas artísticas contemporáneas. Nos preguntamos asimismo, qué implicancias teórico-metodológicas conllevan este tipo de propuestas de investigación, cuáles son los desafíos y las herramientas que podemos utilizar cuando investigamos en los mismos campos en los que participamos artística, social y/o políticamente. Finalmente, nos centramos en los aportes que este tipo de investigación antropológica puede ofrecer en el trabajo con artistas y en la recuperación, sistematización y puesta en valor colectiva de saberes, experiencias y memorias, particularmente en un caso como el del circo, un arte que ha sido largamente desprestigiado y desvalorizado.

This article shares some reflections coming from various research strategies that have been developed throughout our experiences of anthropological work with circus artists. From bodily involvement and collaborative/collective work to the analysis of the changing roles that we can occupy as researchers, the article reflects on the contributions -and also the dilemmas and difficulties- of these investigation strategies for the study of contemporary artistic practices. We also ask ourselves what theoretical-methodological implications this type of research proposal entails, what are the challenges we face and what tools we can use when we investigate in the same fields in which we participate artistically, socially and/or politically. Finally, we focus on the contributions that this kind of anthropological research can offer in the work with artists and in the collective recovery, systematization and enhancement of knowledge, experiences and memories, particularly in a case such as the circus, an art that has long been discredited and devalued.
