Los enfoques teórico metodológicos con impacto en los análisis líticos de Argentina: el caso de la organización tecnológica y sus antecedentes

Abstract

En este ensayo sintetizamos cuáles fueron los acercamientos que llevaron al surgimiento y aplicación del enfoque o paradigma de la organización tecnológica, ampliamente utilizado para el análisis de las sociedades cazadoras-recolectoras que habitaron el sur del continente. La Nueva Arqueología y sus desarrollos fueron su antecedente indiscutido (e.g. Nelson 1991; Carr y Bradbury 2011; McCall 2012). Haremos especial énfasis en el marco de la organización tecnológica, como campo de estudio que, surgido en este contexto, ha cobrado un terreno de desarrollo propio y en permanente actualización. La aplicación bastante generalizada en Argentina de los términos, categorías, o conceptos acuñados por este marco y sus principales referentes, hacen necesario también introducir especificaciones y ejemplos en estudios regionales, a los efectos de aportar elementos que brinden precisión al uso de estas herramientas teórico metodológicas.

In this essay we synthesize the approaches that led to the emergence and application of the technological organization approach or paradigm in our country. These are part of the scientific debates that took place in the world in the second half of the 20th century, which significantly changed the objectives of archeology as a discipline. In this synthesis, which does not claim to be exhaustive, we make a brief review of the main changes that these approaches introduce in the way of analyzing and studying the lithic archaeological record. We analyze the way in which they arrived in our country. And give our perspective on the main concepts and discussions arising from its application in Argentina, with emphasis on our study areas -Patagonia and Cuyo-. We understand that the most interesting analyses, which have provided novel contributions and surprises in the interpretation of the archaeological record, have emerged from the combination of this approach with biogeography and the generation of diachronic models that allowed addressing changes in technological strategies at different scales, which also benefited from the development of paleoenvironmental studies. We hope that in the future this integration will allow us to obtain valuable and new information about past human behavior.
