Representaciones femeninas en la obra de Carmen Rosa San Miguel de Aranda

Abstract

El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar las imágenes y representaciones femeninas esbozadas en “Mi niñez”, obra autobiografía de la artista salteña Carmen Rosa San Miguel de Aranda. En relación a ello, nos interesa dar cuenta de los ejes temáticos de su narrativa, del proceso de definición de un repertorio valorativo y de la construcción dialéctica que se despliega entre su historia de vida y su identidad personal. Este análisis, del contenido de sus historias y de las formas que adquiere su relato, nos permitirá además abordar la subjetividad y la propia experiencia de nuestra autobiógrafa y desentrañar los acuerdos y tensiones entre estos componentes y los canonizados modelos femeninos constitutivos de la cultura salteña de principios del siglo XX.

The aim of this paper is to analyze the female images and representations outlined in “Mi niñez”, an autobiography by the Salta artist Carmen Rosa San Miguel de Aranda. We will account for the values that the writer attributes to the women in her narrative and the relationship of this moral repertoire with the context of production of her work. We start from the premise that this life story contributes to the definition of the writer’s identity, while highlighting the agreements and tensions between the latter and the canonized female models that constituted the Salta culture of the early twentieth century.
