Adorno y el desmoronamiento de los materiales estéticos: Lenguaje, territorio, cuerpo y neovanguardias

Abstract

El presente trabajo pretende hacer una reinterpretación materialista del concepto de material estético desde el diagnóstico de su «desmoronamiento» en la Teoría estética de Th. W. Adorno. Para ello se reconstruyen primero algunos de los trabajos especializados en la estética adorniana, que permiten leer la transición del «material musical» de los textos tempranos a la construcción del concepto general de «material estético» en el Adorno tardío. Luego, se desarrolla la tesis adorniana del «desmoronamiento material estético» mediante cuatro mediaciones socio-históricas, que atraviesan la estética adorniana pero conduncen más allá del arte y la filosofía hacia otras materialidades de los 60 que han sido leídas también en descomposición: la mediación lingüística, que apunta al estado histórico del idioma alemán filtrado por la anglización de occidente y la emergencia en Alemania del dialecto «kanak sprak»; la mediación territorial, que apunta a los procesos de reconstrucción de Frankfurt y la división del suelo alemán durante la Guerra Fría; la mediación corporal, que apunta a recuperar las huellas en el texto adorniano del trabajo físico colaborativo con Gretel Karplus; y a modo de reflexión final abierta, la mediación de las neovanguardias, que apunta a la posición de Adorno contra el happening en el marco del conflicto estudiantil, y a la discusión con las teorías de las desmaterialización del arte, al giro hacia la recepción y las estéticas de la experiencia.

The present work aims to make a materialist reinterpretation of the concept of aesthetic material from the diagnosis of its disintegration in Th. W. Adorno’s Aesthetic Theory. For this purpose, we first reconstruct some of the specialized works on Adornian aesthetics, which allow us to read the transition from the «musical material» of the early texts to the construction of the general concept of «aesthetic material» in the late Adorno. Then, the Adornian thesis of «aesthetic material disintegration» is developed by means of four socio-historical mediations, which cut across Adornian aesthetics but guide us beyond art and philosophy to other materialities of the 1960s that have also been read as decaying: the linguistic mediation that points to the historical state of the German language filtered by the Anglicization of the West and the emergence in Germany of the «kanak sprak» dialect; the territorial mediation that points to the processes of reconstruction of Frankfurt and the division of German soil during the Cold War; the bodily mediation that aims to recover the traces in the Adornian text of the collaborative physical work with Gretel Karplus; and as a final open reflection, the mediation of the neoavantgardes, pointing to Adorno’s position against the happening in the context of the student conflict, and the discussion with the theories of the dematerialization of art, the turn towards reception and the aesthetics of the experience.
