Estado y políticas sociales en la Argentina moderna: La creación de la Caja Nacional de Ahorro Postal (1914)

Abstract

Este artículo examina la conformación de la Caja Nacional de Ahorro Postal (1914) en el marco del temprano proceso de estructuración del Estado social en Argentina a principios del siglo XX. Para ello, indaga en el diseño del marco legal que dio origen a esta institución, atendiendo al entramado de actores, propuestas, modelos y orientaciones que moldearon las definiciones sobre su estructura y sus operaciones. Asimismo, analiza los sentidos y las concepciones que los agentes estatales articularon sobre el ahorro postal, sus beneficios y sus destinatarios.

This article examines the creation of the National Postal Savings Bank (1914) in the early process of organization of the social state in Argentina at the beginning of the twentieth century. To this end, it investigates the design of the legal framework that gave rise to this institution, considering the actors, proposals, models and orientations that shaped the definitions of its structure and operations. It also analyzes the meanings and conceptions that state agents articulated about postal savings, its benefits and its recipients.
