La cuestión ambiental tras el retorno a la democracia en Argentina

Abstract

El texto aborda la evolución de la cuestión ambiental en Argentina durante las últimas cuatro décadas de democracia. Muestra la existencia de dos procesos paralelos. Uno caracterizado por la creación de una nueva institucionalidad ambiental estatal y otro marcado con la expansión del ambientalismo social y el crecimiento de organizaciones profesionales y de base. La cuestión ambiental ha ganado presencia en la agenda pública y política en Argentina a lo largo de las décadas de democracia, con un aumento en la movilización social y la creación de instituciones y normativas relacionadas con el medio ambiente.

The text deals with the evolution of the environmental issue in Argentina during the last four decades of democracy. It shows the existence of two processes that ran in parallel for a good part of the period. One characterized by the creation of a new state environmental institutionality and the other marked by the expansion of social environmentalism and the growth of professional and grassroots organizations. In both ways, the environmental issue has gained presence in the public and political agenda in Argentina throughout the decades of democracy, with an increase in social mobilization and the creation of institutions and regulations related to the environment.
