La experiencia moderna de la temporalidad: naturaleza e historia en el pensamiento del joven Herder

Abstract

El presente trabajo procura analizar el posicionamiento del joven Herder frente a las modernas filosofías de la historia y las perspectivas pragmáticas de la escuela historiográfica de Göttingen. Antes que nada, proponemos remitir el enfrentamiento de Herder con tales posturas a una concepción antagónica con respecto al fenómeno de la temporalidad. En segundo lugar, sostenemos que fueron las ciencias naturales de la época las que le ofrecieron a Herder algunos modelos conceptuales a partir de los cuales pensar una noción alternativa de la temporalidad. Finamente, intentamos poder en evidencia el carácter específicamente moderno de la apelación del joven Herder a la guía providencial.

This paper aims to analyze the positioning of the young Herder face the modern philosophies of history and the pragmatic perspectives of the historiographical School of Göttingen. First of all, we propose to refer the Herder confrontation with such positions to an antagonistic conception of the phenomenon of temporality. Second, we argue that were the natural sciences of that time those they offered to Herder some conceptual models with which to think about an alternative notion of temporality. Finely, we try to evidence the specifically modern sense of Herders reference to the providential guidance.
