dc.description.abstract
We criticize the solutions derived recently for a four-particle quantum mechanical-system in one dimension. We argue that the results obtained by the authors using spherical coordinates are inconsistent (to say the least) and outline the solution of the problem in a clearer and more rigorous way. We also show that the use of spherical coordinates is unnecessary because the eigenvalue equation can be more easily solved in center-of-mass and translation-invariant Jacobi coordinates.
