dc.description.abstract
In this work, the dynamic viscosities of the ternary system formed by propyl propanoate, n-heptane and n-octane were determined experimentally using a falling ball viscometer. The measurements were made at atmospheric pressure and in a wide range of temperatures between 278.15 and 323.15 K. The measured experimental data allowed the calculation of the viscosity deviation, which was satisfactorily adjusted by means of the equation proposed by Cibulka. As a complement to the work, various geometrics models were applied, which propose the theoretical calculation of the deviation of viscosity from the contributions of binary systems. The negative values obtained for the viscosity deviation indicate that the ternary mixture does not present specific interactions between its components.
