Museos para la comunidad: Potencialidades y dilemas para crear museos como espacios participativos y abiertos

Abstract

En este texto planteo tres dimensiones de la relación espacio público y museos; patrimonio y comunidades. Primero trazaré un recorrido sobre la relación museo-patrimonio en torno a las definiciones más consagradas, en segundo lugar realizaré una breve génesis de las posturas que a lo largo de las décadas se construyeron en torno a los debates de la UNESCO. Para esto me enfocaré en las definiciones de lo patrimoniable y sus implicancias e impacto en las perspectivas dadas a los Museos. Finalmente, recorreré dilemas y potencialidades al hablar de la relación museo/comunidad, a partir de la experiencia concreta del Museo de Antropología de Córdoba, Argentina. Para esto, anclaré la mirada en torno al saber y las relaciones de poder que se establecen en las definiciones sobre lo que se incluye o excluye en los museos, para visibilizar la relación asimétrica que se teje con las comunidades. Las preguntas de las cuales parto de manera transversal plantean: ¿Cómo se construye el saber en los museos? ¿Quiénes lo construyen? ¿Para qué y para quiénes?.

In this text I am going to raise three dimensions of the relationship between public space and museums, heritage and communities. First, I will outline the museum-heritage relationship in terms of the most established definitions. Secondly, I will make a brief genesis of the positions that over the decades were built around the debates of Unesco, for which I will focus on the definitions of heritage and its implications and impact on the perspectives given to museums. Finally, I will explore dilemmas and potentialities when talking about the museum/community relationship, based on the concrete experience of the Museum of Anthropology of Córdoba, Argentina. To this end, I will focus on the knowledge and power relations that are established in the definitions of what is included or excluded in museums, in order to make visible the asymmetrical relationship that is woven with the communities. The questions from which I start in a transversal way are: how is knowledge constructed in museums, who constructs it, for what and for whom?.
