Prontuarios policiales de la División de Investigaciones de la Policía de Rosario: Fuentes para una historia social de la clase trabajadora y las instituciones estatales

Abstract

El presente artículo tiene como objetivo presentar una fuente de reciente disponibilidad y aún poco conocida y trabajada. Se trata de los prontuarios policiales labrados por la División de Investigaciones de la Policía de Rosario entre los años 1905 y 1940, haciendo especial hincapié en los pertenecientes a la sección Orden Social, que fue la más significativa del período inicial y aquella encargada de conocer, controlar y reprimir a los sectores más combativos y organizados del mundo obrero. De esta forma, se exploran las potencialidades que este tipo de fuente tiene para la historia social de la clase obrera y las instituciones, a partir del doble registro que permiten al poder conocer a los sujetos documentados, así como a la propia institución que los realizaba.

The aim of this article is to present a recently available source that is still little known and little worked. It deals with the police files kept by the Investigation Division of the Rosario Police between 1905 and 1940, with special emphasis on those belonging to the Social Order section, which was the most significant of the initial period and the one in charge of knowing, controlling and repressing the most combative and organized sectors of the working class. In this way, we explore the potential that this type of source has for the social history of the working class and the institutions, based on the double register that they allow us to know the subjects documented, as well as the institution that carried them out.
