El estado al acecho: reflexiones en torno a Die Polizei de Friedrich Schiller

Abstract

El presente artículo tiene como finalidad explorar algunos fragmentos de una obra inconclusa poco estudiada del repertorio de Friedrich Schiller: Die Polizei. Ante su prematura muerte, estos fragmentos quedaron como anotaciones que despliegan las inquietudes filosóficas, políticas y estéticas que, atravesadas por las consecuencias de la Revolución francesa, revelan la consolidación de una totalidad opresiva encarnada en el Estado moderno. En este sentido, el artículo busca indagar en las dimensiones artísticas y políticas de algunas anotaciones y su relación con la construcción de una institución central de la vida social moderna: la policía. La compleja relación que tiene Schiller con esta institución (mediada por el problema del absolutismo en Alemania y por los ya citados acontecimientos en Francia), demuestra también la intrincada relación entre la posición intelectual y el poder característico de la Weimarer Klassik.

This article aims to explore some fragments of a little studied unfinished work from the repertoire of Friedrich Schiller: Die Polizei. Before his premature death, these fragments remained as annotations that display the philosophical, political and aesthetic concerns that, crossed by the consequences of the French Revolution, reveal the consolidation of an oppressive totality embodied in the modern State. In this sense, the article seeks to investigate the artistic and political dimensions of some annotations and their relationship with the construction of a central institution of modern social life: the police. The complex relationship that Schiller has with this institution (mediated by the problem of absolutism in Germany and by the aforementioned events in France) also demonstrates the intricate relationship between the intellectual position and the characteristic power of the Weimarer Klassik.
