Café Concert: Teatro de lo no tolerable

Abstract

El artículo presenta como objeto de abordaje al espectáculo teatral Café Concert, puesta en escena LGBTIQ+ de Rapsodia, primera discoteca “homosexual” de San Juan, Argentina. Espacio inaugurado en 1995 y que constituyó un territorio de emergencia para las “nuevas” sexualidades invisibilizadas por aquel entonces. El análisis realizado y que aquí presentamos fue una de las primeras aproximaciones a un campo escasamente trabajado en la provincia de San Juan, por lo cual su registro se dio mediante una descripción densa, de carácter exploratorio, con un abordaje teórico que nos acercó a herramientas conceptuales de los estudios teatrales  a lecturas del “teatro del oprimido” y de la teoría sociológica  a estudios sobre la “diversidad sexual”.Como contexto de lucha conducido por Dany Love, Rapsodia como su Café Concert constituyeron un canal de expresión y resistencia para la comunidad LGBTIQ+ sanjuanina, lo que nos permitió analizar procesos de identificación sexual desde una perspectiva colectiva, experiencias que trascendieron de manera deliberada la impronta privada y ganaron valor instrumental en la disputa por la escena pública como artefacto cultural.Por lo tanto, la estructura del artículo que presentamos aquí posee tres ejes de análisis. El primero, Rapsodia, espacio y territorio de habitación de resistencias desde la década del 90. El segundo, la historia de Dany Love, el mayor referente artístico del Café Concert y de los procesos implicados en las identificaciones sexuales. El tercero y último, el Café Concert y su historia, como producto teatral y espacio de visibilización de las resistencias colectivas.

The article presents as an object of approach the theatrical show Café Concert, LGBTIQ+ staging of Rapsodia, the first “homosexual” nightclub in San Juan, Argentina. Space inaugurated in 1995 and which constituted an emergency territory for the "new" sexualities made invisible at that time. The analysis carried out and that we present here was one of the first approximations to a scarcely worked field in the province of San Juan, for which its registration was given through a dense description, of an exploratory nature, with a theoretical approach that brought us closer to tools concepts of theater studies to readings of the “theater of the oppressed” and of sociological theory to studies on “sexual diversity”. As a context of struggle led by Dany Love, Rapsodia as its Café Concert constituted a channel of expression and resistance for the San Juan LGBTIQ+ community, which allowed us to analyze processes of sexual identification from a collective perspective, experiences that deliberately transcended the private imprint and they gained instrumental value in the dispute over the public scene as a cultural artifact. Therefore, the structure of the article that we present here has three axes of analysis. The first, Rhapsody, space and territory of habitation of resistances since the 90s. The second, the story of Dany Love, the greatest artistic reference of the Café Concert and of the processes involved in sexual identifications. The third and last, the Café Concert and its history, as a theatrical product and a space for making collective resistance visible.
