Afectación del complejo de chinches (Heteroptera; Pentatomidae) en variedades de frijol común en tres localidades de Villa Clara

Abstract

El complejo de chinches pentatómidas causa daños al frijol común (Phaseolus vulgaris L.), debido a que se alimentan directamente de las legumbres en desarrollo. En Cuba no se cuenta con la información del daño que este complejo de chinches pentatómidas puede causar al cultivo, por lo que se realizó una evaluación y la determinación de los daños que ocasionan al frijol. Se estudió la afectación del complejo de chinches (Heteroptera; Pentatomidae) en las variedades que de frijol común con mayor frecuencia se cultivan en Cuba . Se sembraron en el Huerto Sandino del municipio de Remedios, la Estación Experimental Agrícola Álvaro Barba Machado de la Universidad Central de Las Villas y el Huerto El Jardín, ambos del municipio de Santa Clara, en el periodo comprendido de diciembre de 2008 a mayo de 2009. Para la localidad de Remedios, el frijol se sembró en la época intermedia (noviembre-diciembre) y para las localidades restantes se sembró en la época tardía (enero-febrero). Los niveles de pérdidas causados por estos pentatómidos en las distintas variedades fueron entre 59,9 % a 15,8 %. No hubo relación con el color de la testa de los granos, con respecto a los niveles de daños ocasionados y no se observó la transmisión de la levadura del género Nematospora.

The complex of truebugs (Pentatomidae) causes damages to the common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.), because they feed directly of the legumes in development. In Cuba it is not had the information of the damage that this complex of truebugs can cause to the crop, for what was carried out an evaluation and the determination of the damages that cause to the bean. The affectation of the complex of truebugs was studied (Heteroptera; Pentatomidae) in the varieties that are cultivated in Cuba of common bean with more frequency. They were sowed in the Sandino farm of the municipality of Remedios, the Agricultural Experimental Station “Alvaro Barba Machado of the Central University of Las Villas and The Garden farm, both of the municipality Santa Clara, in the period of December, 2008 to May. 2009. For the farm in Remedios, the bean was sowed in the intermediate season (November-December) and for the remaining towns it was sowed in the late season (January-February). The levels of losses caused by these truebugs in the different varieties were among 59,9% to 15,8%. There was not relationship between the color of the skin of grains, with regard to the levels of caused damages. The transmission of the yeast of genus Nematospora was not observed.
