Experimento y experiencia política: Las piezas didácticas o Lehrstücke de Bertolt Brecht y Kurt Weill

Abstract

El teatro épico creado por Bertolt Brecht y, dentro de este, la ópera épica y las piezas didácticas o Lehrstücke, son un antecedente sustancial para pensar el proceso de desmontaje de la ópera que comenzó a partir de las primeras décadas del siglo XX en el contexto de las vanguardias históricas. A partir de las piezas didácticas Der Lindberghflug, de Bertolt Brecht y los compositores Kurt Weill y Paul Hindemith, y Der Jasager, de la dupla Brecht-Weill, nos interesa reflexionar en torno al cruce entre experimentación estética y experiencia política, atendiendo, en particular, al vínculo entre arte y tecnología que Brecht indaga en las puestas escénicas de estas obras y sobre el que también teoriza en sus escritos.

The epic theater created by Bertolt Brecht and, within it, the epic opera and the didactic pieces or Lehrstücke, are a substantial precedent to think about the process of disassembling the opera. This experimentation on the operatic genre began in the context of the avant-gardes, during the first decades of the 20th century. Based on the didactic pieces Der Lindberghflug, by Bertolt Brecht and the composers Kurt Weill and Paul Hindemith, and Der Jasager, by the Brecht-Weill duo, we are interested in reflecting on the intersection between aesthetic experimentation and political experience. Further, we will focus on the link between art and technology that Brecht investigates in the staging of these pieces.
