La heterogénea reconfiguración del campo historiográfico en el retorno a la democracia en Argentina

Abstract

En este artículo, nos proponemos matizar las imágenes que enfatizan los elementos de ruptura que la transición democrática habría generado en el campo historiográfico. No buscamos negar los elementos renovadores que se desarrollaron en la historiografía argentina desde diciembre de 1983, sino presentar los debates existentes al respecto. Por un lado, se propone mostrar que el aporte del CONICET a la profesionalización del campo fue menos amplio de lo que generalmente se considera, al señalar la existencia de elementos marcados de continuidad que en distintos sentidos podemos encontrar en esa institución. Por otro lado, advertir respecto de las diferencias notables en los ritmos de renovación en distintas universidades nacionales, concentrándonos en algunos casos en los que la continuidad en los planteles y perspectivas historiográficas entre dictadura y democracia resultó más marcado.

The purpose of this article is to qualify the images that highlight the elements of rupture that the democratic transition is said to have generated in the historiographical field. Our aim is not to deny the renewing elements that have developed in Argentine historiography since December 1983, but rather to present the existing debates in this regard. We propose, on the one hand, to show that CONICET's contribution to the professionalization of the field was less extensive than is generally assumed, by pointing to the existence of marked elements of continuity that can be found in various forms in this institution. On the other hand, this article aims to show the remarkable differences in the pace of renewal in the different national universities, focusing on some cases where the continuity in personnel and historiographical perspectives between dictatorship and democracy was more pronounced.
