Las luchas sociales en democracia: Pettit frente a Spinoza, de la disputa al conflicto

Abstract

El presente trabajo busca analizar el aspecto republicano del pensamiento de Baruch Spinoza a partir de un ejercicio comparativo con la filosofía de Philip Pettit. Para ello, se restituye la concepción republicana de la libertad como no dominación. Luego, se aplica dicha concepción de la libertad para ver cómo ella encaja en la concepción spinoziana. En tercer lugar, se recupera la reflexión republicana de Pettit. Por último, se estudia la filosofía política de Spinoza para marcar las similitudes y diferencias con la propuesta de Pettit, señalando lo innovador de la teoría del autor holandés.

This work seeks to analyze the republican aspect of Baruch Spinoza’s thought from a comparative exercise with the philosophy of Philip Pettit. For this, the republican conception of freedom as non-domination is restored. Then, this conception of freedom is applied to see how it fits into the Spinozian conception. Thirdly, Pettit’s republican reflection is recovered. Finally, Spinoza’s political philosophy is studied to mark the similarities and differences with Pettit's proposal, pointing out the innovativeness of the Dutch author's theory.
