De una huelga comercial a exigencias sobre autonomía municipal. El lanzamiento de la Liga del Sur desde las páginas del diario La Capital de Rosario, Argentina (1909)

Abstract

En este trabajo analizamos cómo un actor político constituido en los márgenes del poder central, localizado en la capital santafesina, logra formarse como una fuerza política novedosa, que se plantea como lo opuesto al régimen tradicional oficialista y que representa a los centros de poder económico y a los intereses agroexportadores alojados en el sur santafesino, con una fuerte base en la ciudad de Rosario. Específicamente analizaremos mediante una descripción densa, como desde la prensa local, en particular el diario La Capital de Rosario, se representa a la Liga del Sur como el modelo de partido nuevo y necesario para el futuro político que atravesará la región y como se la trasformará en la “natural heredera política” de un movimiento cívico y social que había surgido justamente en oposición a las formas tradicionales de la política del momento.

In this paper we study to prove how a political actor constituted on the margins of the central power, that is located in the capital of Santa Fe, manages to form itself as a new political force, which establishes itself as the opposite of the official traditional politics and represents the economic power centers and the agro-exporters interests settle in the south of Santa Fe, with an strong base in the city of Rosario. We are specifically analyzing through a thick description, how the Liga del Sur is represented by the local press, in particular by the newspaper La Capital of Rosario, as a model of a new party which is necessary for the political future that the region will go through and how it will be transformed into the “natural political heir” of a civic and social movement that have actually arisen in opposition to the traditional shapes of politics at that moment.
