La condición transicional y emergente de las juventudes en el Cinturón Hortícola Platense

Abstract

El Cinturón Hortícola Platense es la zona productora de hortalizas frescas más importante de Argentina. La actividad en las últimas décadas ha sido encarada por familias inmigrantes de origen boliviano quienes llegan con la expectativa de mejorar sus condiciones de vida. Los hijos e hijas jóvenes de estas familias constituyen un nuevo grupo poblacional en el sector en el cual convergen una serie de transiciones configurando diferentes juventudes. El presente trabajo explora estas transiciones y el rol que tienen las organizaciones en el involucramiento de esta nueva población en los procesos de cambio que vienen siendo impulsados.

The Horticultural Belt of La Plata is the most important fresh vegetable producing area in Argentina. In recent decades, the activity has been undertaken by immigrant families of Bolivian origin who arrive with the expectation of improving their living conditions. The youth of these families constitute a new population group in the sector in which a series of transitions converge, configuring different youths. This paper explores these transitions and the role of organizations in the involvement of this new population in the processes of change that are being promoted.
