Resumen
In his study of sea anemones from The Bahamas, McMurrich (1898) described six specimens of sea anemones that he identified as Halcurias pilatus McMurrich, 1893, a species previously known from southern Chile (McMurrich 1893). Uchida (2004) later revised the species within the genus Halcurias McMurrich, 1893, describing a new species for the specimens from The Bahamas examined by McMurrich and proposing the name Halcurias macmurrichi for this material. Uchida did not re-examined McMurrich’s specimens but was able to base his conclusions on McMurrich’s available descriptions of H. pilatus (1893, 1898, 1901) to differentiate the two halcuriid species.
