La continuidad de un vínculo: Hijos y padres en la literatura argentina contemporánea

Abstract

Los textos en los que un hijo cuenta la vida de su padre y las vicisitudes de la relación que mantuvieron conforman un subgénero de la escritura biográfica. Este subgénero, que recibe en inglés dos denominaciones (patriography y patremoir), resulta especialmente útil para inquirir la índole del vinculo entre biógrafo y biografiado. En este artículo se ofrece un primer acercamiento a un conjunto de patriograrfías publicadas en la Argentina en las dos últimas décadas que hace foco en cómo en ellas aparece ese vínculo: ese “nosotros” conformado por padre e hijo. Además, se analiza cómo estos textos casi siempre tematizan, de diversas maneras, tres cuestiones: muerte, conversación y vocación. Asimismo, se postula que más allá delas intenciones del hijo-biógrafo con respecto a su padre en particular, la patriografía es siempre un espacio textual en el que se trama alguna forma de la afiliación o de la continuidad

The texts in which a son recounts his father's lifeand the vicissitudes of their relationship make up a subgenre ofbiographical writing. This subgenre, which receives two namesin English (patriografy and patremoir), is especially usefulfor inquiring into the nature of the relationships between thebiographer and the biographee.
