Otra idea del socialismo, a partir de la concepción de la democracia de Axel Honneth

Abstract

Este trabajo establece un diálogo con la problematización que Axel Honneth desarrolla en torno a la libertad social, noción en la cual funda su concepción de la eticidad democrática. En esta última, a su vez, él inscribe su propuesta de renovación de la idea del socialismo. Dar cuenta de los aportes pero, sobre todo, de las deficiencias del abordaje honnethiano permitirá esbozar otra idea del socialismo y, con ella, del camino por el cual avanzar en la democratización de las relaciones sociales. Este es el objetivo principal aquí perseguido, para lo cual se indaga, por un lado, la pretensión normativista de la teoría honnethiana, señalando como ella choca con elementos constitutivos de la sociabilidad democrática. Por el otro, se estudia su caracterización de las esferas económica y de formación de la opinión, lo cual implicará discutir la relación entre la lógica del mercado y la de lo público. Finalmente, se plantea una idea del socialismo que hace de él la alternativa democrática a un contexto signado por la apariencia de que there is not alternative (TINA).

This work dialogues with Axel Honneth’s problematization around social freedom, a notion on which he bases his conception of democratic ethics. At the same time, in this one, he inscribes his proposal to renew the idea of socialism. Accounting for the contributions but, also, the deficiencies of the Honnethian approach will allow this paper to outline another idea of socialism and, with it, the path towards the democratization of social relations. This is the main objective pursued here. To reach it, we will review, on the one hand, the normative claim of the Honnethian theory, pointing out how it collides with constitutive elements of democratic sociability. On the other hand, we study the characterization of the economic and opinion-forming spheres, which will imply discussing the relationship between the logic of the market and that of the public. Finally, an idea of socialism is proposed, conceived as the democratic alternative to a context marked by the appearance that “there is no alternative” (TINA).
