Eva Duarte y sus representaciones en el peronismo a comienzos de la década de 1960 en Argentina

Abstract

Este artículo analiza las representaciones de Eva Duarte que hicieron actores individuales y organizativos peronistas en Argentina entre 1962 y 1966. Se examinan los sentidos dados a su figura en dos hechos clave de la historia del peronismo: el 17 de Octubre y el Renunciamiento. Asimismo, se indagan las particularidades de la biografía de Evita y de los homenajes a su fallecimiento, articuladas por esas narrativas peronistas en el periodo considerado. Las características del mito evitista estaban vinculadas a las luchas políticas que se libraban al interior del peronismo. En años caracterizados por una tentativa de integración del “voto peronista” al sistema político-institucional y de exclusión del liderazgo de Juan Domingo Perón, las distintas facetas dadas a Evita permitían polemizar con sectores antitéticos y cooptar a otros.

This article analyzes the representations that Peronist individual and or-ganizational actors in Argentina made of Eva Duarte between 1962 and 1966. The senses given to his figure are examined in two key facts of the history of Peronism: the October 17 and the Renunciamiento. Likewise, I seek to understand the parti-cularities of the biography of Evita and the tributes to her death articulated by these Peronist narratives in the period considered. The characteristics of the Avoidist myth were linked to the political struggles that were waged within Peronism. In years cha-racterized by an attempt to integrate the “Peronist vote” into the political-institutional system and to exclude the leadership of Juan Domingo Perón, the different facets given to Evita allowed polemicizing with antithetical sectors and co-opting others.
