En los restos, el deseo: Sobre la reactivación de objetos escénicos en Todo Performance

Abstract

Este trabajo trata sobre los usos de restos documentales en la puesta en escena de TODO Performance (2021), obra dirigida por Laura Valencia -actriz, bailarina y directora platense. Allí se despliega la colección de objetos escénicos que Laura ha acumulado, detrás del telón, durante veinticinco años de trayectoria artística. En relación al lugar protagónico que ocupan estos objetos como poética de la performance, nos preguntamos qué densidades políticas, históricas y afectivas se habilitan al ponerlos nuevamente en escena. Si pensamos que esta performance pone en práctica las poéticas del resto (López, 2018) y asimismo está atravesada por un deseo de archivo (Lepecki, 2014)-, ¿qué lecturas o relecturas del pasado pueden hacerse hoy a partir de los objetos activados en esta performance?, y ¿en qué medidas las reactivaciones de estos objetos-restos pueden constituirse como ejercicios de memoria?. Para abordar estos interrogantes atenderemos al lugar que ocupan los afectos y la memoria en estos procedimientos de recuperación y reactivación, a la idea del objeto-resto como material simbólico y del dispositivo escénico como dispositivo documental.

This text is about the uses of remains at the staging of TODO Performance (2021), directed by Laura Valencia -actress, dancer and director from La Plata. The collection of theatrical objects that Laura has accumulated behind the scenes during twenty-five years of artistic career is displayed in this performance. Regarding the leading role that these objects have here as a poetic of the performance, we wonder about what political, historical and affective densities appear when they are put back on stage. If we think that in this performance operates a poetic of remains (López, 2018) and a will to archive (Lepecki, 2014)-, what kind of interpretations and reinterpretations of the past can we make from the objects used in these performance? Can we think about the re-uses of these objects/remains as a work of memory?. To address these questions we’ll consider the role occupied by the affections and the memory at these acts of retrieval and reuse, the idea of remains as symbolic materials and the scenic device as a documentary device.
