Tejían juntas las mujeres: Movimientos e imágenes en el tejido chaqueño (Argentina)

Abstract

En este trabajo nos acercamos al proceso de aprendizaje en el tejido de mujeres de los pueblos Qom y Wichí en relación con tejedoras, aprendices y agentes de fomento artesanal de diversas localidades chaqueñas. Se trabajó con el método etnográfico, alternando observación participante, entrevista etnográfica y búsqueda bibliográfica entre agosto de 2012 a abril de 2022. Describimos la construcción de tejidos con totora y palma en el marco de “talleres de tejido-pensamiento”, considerando la relación entre docentes artesanas y aprendices. Vemos que tanto movimientos voluntarios como involuntarios son registrados por el tejido. Analizamos el desarrollo de la destreza como resultado en vez de como requisito previo al tejido, teniendo en cuenta las observaciones de otros relevantes, las diferencias de edad y la sustitución de palabras por imágenes, en el marco de “mesas de diseño colaborativo”. Finalmente, atendemos a la construcción de sentidos mediante imágenes seleccionadas según lo que se concibe como “cultura” o “tradición”.

In this work we approach the learning process in the fabric of women of the Qom and Wichí peoples in relation to weavers, apprentices and artisanal promotion agents of various Chaco localities. We worked with the ethnographic method, alternating participant observation, ethnographic interview and bibliographic search between August 2012 and April 2022. We describe the construction of fabrics with cattail and palm in the framework of "weaving-thinking workshops", considering the relationship between artisan teachers and apprentices. Both voluntary and involuntary movements are recorded by the fabric. We analyze the development of dexterity as a result rather than as a prerequisite to fabric, taking into account the observations of other relevant ones, age differences and the substitution of words for images, within the framework of "collaborative design workshops". Finally, we attend to the construction of orientations through images selected according to what is conceived as "culture" or "tradition".
