La construcción de la provincianía y la alteridad kolla desde el estado y la academia entre los siglos XX y XXI (Salta, Argentina)

Abstract

El presente artículo desarrolla un análisis de las formaciones provinciales de alteridad en la provincia de Salta. Con el objetivo de abordar las tipologías construidas como válidas o descalificantes en torno a la etnia y la clase social, identifica un mapa de las clasificaciones instituidas tanto por el Estado como por la elite gobernante durante la consolidación de la identidad hegemónica salteña. Al mismo tiempo, recupera antecedentes académicos que abordan específicamente a las poblaciones de los Valles interandinos, pertenecientes al pueblo kolla, identificando formas de denominar a los indígenas de esa zona. Allí incluye un apartado que contempla relatos y recuerdos sucedidos durante un taller que se llevó a cabo en el municipio de Nazareno, al noroeste de Salta. También incorpora archivos que pertenecen al libro histórico de la escuela primaria de dicho municipio. Ambos registros constituyen un acercamiento a la historia del pueblo y permiten dar cuenta de cómo se articularon y reforzaron históricamente determinadas tipologías y clasificaciones sociales.

This article analyses the provincial formations of alterity in the province of Salta. In order to address the typologies constructed as valid or disqualifying around ethnicity and social class, it charts the classifications instituted by both the State and the ruling elite during the consolidation of Salta’s hegemonic identity. Simultaneously, the paper examines academic precedents that specifically address the populations of the inter-Andean valleys, related to the Kolla people, identifying ways of naming the indigenous people of that area. It includes as well a section that considers stories and memories generated during a workshop that took place in the municipality of Nazareno, northwest of Salta. Finally, this article also incorporates files that belong to the historical book of the primary school of the aforementioned municipality. Both registers provide an approach to the history of the town and explain the way certain typologies and social classifications were historically articulated and reinforced.
