El giro práctico: Filosofía francesa y escritura de sí. El caso Althusser

Abstract

Este texto toma una posición ética ante el acontecimiento catastrófico que ha significado la pandemia y desde allí propone un cambio en la forma de escritura académica. Por una parte, que ésta reconozca la fragilidad de la vida y, por otra, la honestidad intelectual al momento de dar cuenta de las tradiciones que nos constituyen, sin pretender el dominio absoluto de ningún saber sino tratando de mostrar la materialidad de los trayectos recorridos: formulación de tesis, cambios de registro discursivo, invenciones conceptuales o nuevas nominaciones. Sostengo que la escritura de sí nos permite incluir estos movimientos complejos atravesados de experiencias personales, sobredeterminaciones coyunturales, y la vez de sus elaboraciones conceptuales como teóricas. Para sostener esta tesis que inscribo en lo que llamo giro práctico, primero realizo una introducción que anticipa los cambios necesarios en el modo de practicar la filosofía; luego hago un breve repaso por la tradición de pensamiento en la cual se inscribe, remarcando la dimensión práctica y sobre todo la escritura como práctica de sí; y por último me atengo a considerar un caso singular de esta modalidad de escritura filosófica.

This text takes a stand in face of the catastrophic event that the pandemic has meant and proposes a change in the form of academic writing. On the one hand that it recognizes the fragility of life and on the other the intellectual honesty when accounting for the traditions that constitute us, without claiming an absolute mastery of any knowledge but trying to show the materiality of the journeys traveled: thesis formulation, discursive register changes, conceptual inventions or new nominations. I argue that “self-writing” allows us to include these complex movements traversed by personal experiences, conjunctural overdeterminations, and at the same time of their conceptual and theoretical elaborations. To support this thesis which I inscribe in what I call a practical turn, I first make an introduction that advances the necessary changes in the way of practicing philosophy; then I make a brief review of the tradition in which it is inscribed, emphasizing its practical dimension, and especially writing as a practice of the self; and finally, I consider a singular case of this modality of philosophical writing.
