Breves reflexiones en torno a la percepción de la política exterior

Abstract

La diplomacia argentina ha estado marcada a fuego por figuras de indiscutible relevancia, entre ellas los cancilleres Carlos Saavedra Lamas y Guido Di Tella. En este breve trabajo buscamos indagar el rol de la percepción del mundo que cargaban ambos diplomáticos y cómo asistieron a moldear los principales lineamientos de las políticas exteriores de ambos cancilleres. Centrarnos en estas dos figuras, nos permite estudiar las posiciones de la diplomacia argentina en dos contextos de cambios sistémicos diferentes tanto en la década de 1930 como en la de 1990 y procurar recuperar lecciones de un pasado que todavía marca el destino de nuestro país.

Argentine diplomacy has been marked by figures of indisputable relevance, among them foreign ministers Carlos Saavedra Lamas and Guido Di Tella. In this brief paper we seek to investigate the role of the perception of the world carried by both diplomats and how they helped to shape the main guidelines of their foreign policies. To focus on these two figures allows us to study the positions of Argentine diplomacy in two contexts of different systemic changes in both the 1930s and the 1990s, and to seek to recover lessons from a past that still marks the destiny of our country.
