¿Qué ocurrió con el Ejército Auxiliar del Perú entre Vilcapugio y Ayohuma? La reconstrucción de un ejército revolucionario

Abstract

El presente trabajo pretende analizar lo ocurrido con el Ejército Auxiliar del Perú entre la batallas de Vilcapugio y Ayohuma. A diferencia de otras ocasiones, donde luego de una derrota, el Ejército Auxiliar del Perú se vio obligado a retirarse del Alto Perú, esta vez logró mantenerse y enfrentar un nuevo combate. Por lo tanto, el interés estará centrado en entender cómo fue esto posible y principalmente sobre qué bases se reconstruyo ese ejército y evaluar la solidez de la misma. Para eso trabajaremos tanto con fuentes editas como inéditas del Archivo General de la Nación (Buenos Aires) y del Servicio Histórico del Ejército (Buenos Aires).

The present work aims to analyze what happened with the Auxiliary Army of Peru between the battles of Vilcapugio and Ayohuma. Unlike otheroccasions, where after a defeat, the Auxiliary Army of Peru was forced to withdraw from Alto Peru, this time it managed to hold on and face a new combat. Therefore, the interest will be focused on understanding how this was possible and mainly on what bases that army was rebuilt and evaluating its solidity. For this we will work with both published and unpublished sources from the General Archive of the Nation (Buenos Aires) and the Army Historical Service (Buenos Aires).
