Resumen
Eagles are the largest representatives among raptors and many species are endangered or threatened, primarily due to their habitat requirements and potential conflicts with human activities (Newton 1979, Meyburg 1986). These large birds of prey typically breed at low densities and require large tracts of relatively undisturbed habitat (Newton 1979). Fragmentation and reduction of habitat and human persecution to prevent livestock losses contribute to the decline of their populations (Córdoba-Córdoba et al. 2008, Acevedo-Charry et al. 2015, Zuluaga and Echeverry-Galvis 2016, Muniz-López 2017).
