Entre el llano y las alturas: estilo, secuencia y paisaje en el arte rupestre de ampolla, Sierra de el Alto-Ancasti (Catamarca, Argentina)

Abstract

Este trabajo presenta una primera aproximación a la secuencia de los "modos de hacer" el arte rupestre del sitio Ampolla 1, ubicado en las estribaciones septentrionales de la Sierra de El Alto-Ancasti (Catamarca, Argentina). Desde una perspectiva diacrónica y performativa, articulamos y discutimos tres principales líneas de evidencias: los aspectos morfológico-estilísticos de las manifestaciones rupestres, el paisaje y los contextos arqueológicos asociados. Identificamos una secuencia de 17 eventos de manufactura del arte rupestre, que asociamos a ocho Momentos con potencial valor cronológico relativo desde el período Temprano al Tardío. Estos resultados sirven para discutir prácticas, lógicas y elecciones de los agentes sociales en la interacción con estos espacios plásticos y en la vivencia del paisaje rupestre como un proceso performativo de larga duración.

This paper offers a first approach to sequencing the “ways of doing” rock art at the Ampolla 1 site located in the northern foothills of Sierra de El Alto-Ancasti (Catamarca, Argentina). From a diachronic and performative perspective, three main lines of evidence were followed and addressed: the morphological-stylistic features of the rock art manifestations, the landscape, and the associated archeological contexts. We identified a sequence of 17 rock art manufacturing events associated with eight moments that may have a relative chronological value from the Early to Late periods. The results allow us to discuss, at the local level, the practices, logic and choices of social agents in their interactions with these creative spaces together with their experience of the rock art, bringing together concepts and materialities at the regional level, linking the eastern lowlands with the Andean valleys and mountains in a long-lasting performative process.
