La resistencia a la teoría en los textos sobre el fantástico: El caso de Marcelo Cohen

Abstract

Este trabajo propone corroborar la hipótesis de quelo fantástico (en sus diversos modos literarios) seresiste a la teoría, es decir que, más que otros modoso géneros narrativos, pone de relieve la resistencia dela literatura a su teorización. Si bien es posiblecomprobar un renovado interés por lo fantásticodesde inicios de los años 2000, marcado por lapublicación de obras de autoras y autores argentinoscuyas ventas evidencian la atención de lectores algénero, no se observa, sin embargo, el mismo tenorde producciones teórico-críticas al respecto. Frente aeste estado de las cosas, la obra crítica ¡Realmentefantástico! de Marcelo Cohen constituye una excepción. Con su particular escritura teórico-crítico-literaria el autor consigue superar las limitaciones de la teoría y de la crítica en relación con el fantástico ydelinear un proyecto estético que, asentado en elcampo artístico, opera en el ámbito de la experienciavital. El trabajo se enmarca en las discusiones sobre“la resistencia a la teoría” propuesta por Paul DeMan y retomada en el campo crítico argentinoprincipalmente por Miguel Dalmaroni, JudithPodlubne y Alberto Giordano.

This work proposes to corroborate the hypothesis that the fantastic (in its various literary modes) resists theory, that is, remarks the resistance of literature to its theorization, more than other modes or narrative genres. While it is possible to see a renewed interest in the fantastic since the early 2000s, evidenced by the publication of works by Argentine authors whose sales show readers' attention to the genre, however, we don’t observe the same tenor of theoretical-critical productions in this regard. In contrast to this, the critical work ¡Realmente fantástico! of Marcelo Cohen constitutes an exception. With its particular theoretical-criticalliterary writing the author manages to overcome the limitations of theory and criticism in relation to the fantastic and delineates an aesthetic project that operates in the realm of life experience, based on the artistic field. The work is framed within the discussions on "the resistance to theory” proposed by Paul De Man and retaken in the Argentine critical field, mainly by Miguel Dalmaroni, Judith Podlubne and Alberto Giordano.
