Análisis del “campo del decir” sobre la enfermedad del presidente Chávez: El cáncer y la construcción de sentidos en El Nacional

Abstract

El impacto de la enfermedad del presidente venezolano Hugo Chávez y su posterior fallecimiento, generaron un conjunto de nociones que diversos actores mostraron a través de los medios. Se indaga sobre la construcción de estos modos del decir y referirse al caso, en uno de los principales diarios venezolanos: El Nacional. Algunas bases teóricas para abordar la investigación fueron Adrian (2013), Aurenque (2018), Bourdieu (2002), Borrat (1989), Habermas (2004), Prost (1991), Sontang (1977).

The discourse on cancer, death and funerals is of great interest to society. The notions surrounding these categories have been the subject of thorough inquiries, and even more so if they are associated with public figures. In this regard, the social commotion caused by Venezuela's president Hugo Chavez and his subsequent death stimulated the elaboration of speeches by different social agents. These speeches were captured in the media. Taking this into account, this paper undertakes the analysis of one of Venezuela's main newspapers: El Nacional.
