Resumen

The use of products derived from plant species has become increasingly important in recent years around the world. The main objectives of using these products are the improvement on a lower environmental impact and the removal of synthetic additives from the food chain. Furthermore, in the poultry diet, the use of additives and ingredients of natural origin affects the productive performance and animal health, obtaining final products with higher quality and hygienically safe for the consumers. Products and by-products from the olive industry as a source of nutrients in the broiler diet are a viable alternative. The present work aims to identify the leading institutions and organizations that investigate the use of these products in broiler diets and to observe the trend presented by publications referring to this research topic. Through a search in the Core Collection database of Web of Science (WoS), articles related to the desired topic were selected. Then, using the VOSviewer version 1.6.15 network analysis software, the main organizations and institutions that make publications of scientific interest on this topic were detected. The results indicate that scientific publications referring to products and by-products of the olive industry in poultry feed have increased significantly in the last five years, and 61 institutions have published at least one article. The organization with the highest number of citations and, in turn, with the highest number of published documents is the IRTA - Institute for Agrifood Research and Technologies in Cataluña, Spain. The results reflect a growing interest in the chosen topic of study and advise that it is a subject on the rise, so it is necessary to continue with this line of research analysis.
