Legitimidad sin movimiento: Transformaciones en la politicidad evangélica en Argentina

Abstract

El objetivo de este artículo es analizar la vigencia de la hipótesis que conceptualiza a los evangélicos como un movimiento social en Argentina. A partir de los hallazgos de los estudios sobre acciones públicas evangélicas en el nuevo milenio, explicaremos los límites de la tesis movimentista y propondremos una tesis de reemplazo. La misma identifica un proceso de legitimidad sociopolítica que comprende a todo este espacio religioso, sin la constitución de un sujeto colectivo. En las conclusiones formularemos una agenda para este campo de estudios, que contemple las diferentes aristas de la politicidad evangélica. Los argumentos de esta propuesta se sustentan en un análisis crítico de los estudios que componen el estado del arte imprescindible en la materia y en los datos empíricos producidos por investigaciones del autor de este manuscrito.

The aim of this article is to analyze the validity of the hypothesis that conceptualizes Evangelicals as a social movement in Argentina. Based on the findings of studies on Evangelical public actions in the new millennium, we will explain the limits of the movement thesis and propose a replacement thesis. This thesis identifies a process of socio-political legitimacy that includes all this religious space, without the constitution of a collective subject. In the conclusions we will formulate an agenda for this field of studies, which contemplates the different aspects of Evangelical politicization. The arguments of this proposal are based on a critical analysis of the studies that make up the essential state of the art in the field and on the empirical data produced by the research of the author of this manuscript.
