As filósofas do pragmatismo clássico: Uma introdução

Abstract

O renascimento do pragmatismo foi acompanhado por uma série de filósofas feministas que se esforçaram para resgatar do esquecimento as pensadoras que fizeram parte do movimento pragmatista clássico do final do século XIX e primeira metade do século XX. O presente trabalho visa introduzir aos leitores de língua portuguesa esse trabalho a partir de uma breve exposição das pensadoras Jane Addams (1860-1935), Mary Parker Follet (1868 – 1933), Charlotte Perkins Gilman (1860 – 1935), Mary Whiton Calkins (1863 – 1930) e Ella Flagg Young (1845 – 1918).

The revival of pragmatism was accompanied by a number of feminist philosophers who struggled to rescue from obscurity the thinkers who were part of the classic pragmatist movement of the late nineteenth and first half of the twentieth century. The present work aims to introduce this work to Portuguese-speaking readers through a brief presentation by the thinkers Jane Addams (1860-1935), Mary Parker Follet (1868- 1933), Charlotte Perkins Gilman (1860-1935), Mary Whiton Calkins (1863-1930), and Ella Flagg Young. (1845-1918).
