Antropología sin más: Reflexiones metodológicas en torno a la adjetivación de la disciplina antropológica

Abstract

En múltiples investigaciones antropológicas desarrolladas en la Argentina existe una proliferación de adjetivos con los que se acompaña las palabras antropología y etnografía. Comprometida, colaborativa, militante, entre otros rótulos, se agregan desde los títulos de las publicaciones, delimitando los alcances o haciendo explícitos los intereses de las investigaciones. A fuego cruzado entre colegas que ponderan la adjetivación de la etnografía y el trabajo antropológico y quienes señalan la consolidación de mandatos disciplinares que han sedimentado un sentido común para la antropología nacional asociado a la necesidad de un compromiso profético. Propongo recuperar mi experiencia de trabajo de campo en el Departamento Valle Fértil, al Noreste de San Juan, con baqueanos de un contexto serrano, para discutir los alcances metodológicos de propuestas que insisten en adjetivar el trabajo antropológico.

In multiple anthropological investigations carried out in Argentina, there is a proliferation of adjectives that support the words anthropology and ethnography. “Committed, collaborative, militant”, amongst other labels, are some of the terms used in the titles of the investigations, delimiting the scope of the research or making its interests explicit. In the crossfire between colleagues that ponder the adjectivation of ethnography and anthropological work, and the ones who point out the consolidation of disciplinary mandates that have settled a common sense in national anthropology associated with the need for a prophetic commitment. I propose to recall my fieldwork experience in Valle Fértil, the northeast of San Juan, with baqueanos in a mountain context, to discuss the methodological scope of proposals that insist on adjectivizing the anthropological work.
