Los trabajos del amor: tensiones entre lo laboral y la intimidad de varones gays argentinos

Abstract

Este trabajo analiza las vinculaciones entre la esfera laboral y las relaciones amorosas de varones gays. A partir de entrevistas con jóvenes gays de Buenos Aires, Argentina, se recuperan tres trabajos del amor en el cruce entre lo laboral y la intimidad. Primero, la negociación de una identidad al salir del closet por una relación amorosa. Segundo, la satisfacción del deseo y el rol del erotismo en el acceso al trabajo o generando seducción en el ámbito laboral. Tercero, la estabilización de la pareja y cómo el empleo o desempleo deviene un obstáculo a sortear. Se concluye en la necesidad de analizar los cruces entre amor y trabajo tanto a partir de la forma como del contenido.

This paper analyzes the links between the labor sphere and the love relationships of gay men. Based on interviews with young gay men in Buenos Aires, Argentina, I lay out three labours of love at the crossroads between work and intimacy. First, the identity negotiation when coming out of the closet through a love relationship. Second, the satisfaction of desire and the role of eroticism in access to work or generating seduction in the workplace. Third, the stabilization of the couple and how employment or unemployment becomes an obstacle to overcome. I conclude with the need to analyze the crossings between love and work both from the form and the content.
